Mould for SPC Flooring Extrusion Machine
Romeroca mould for SPC flooring extrusion machine is a precision T-die system used to form SPC rigid core sheets during the extrusion process. It controls melt distribution, sheet width, thickness uniformity, surface flatness and downstream calendering stability. For SPC flooring factories, the extrusion mould is one of the most important spare parts because it directly affects board density, sheet thickness tolerance, material flow balance and final flooring quality.
Romeroca supplies SPC extrusion moulds for common 1050 mm and 1350 mm production widths. The mould supports multi-zone temperature control, heating rods, adjustable die lip, fastening screws and customized design according to extruder size, product width, raw material formula, target board thickness and production capacity.

What Is an SPC Flooring Extrusion Mould?
An SPC flooring extrusion mould, also called an SPC flooring T-die or sheet extrusion die, is installed between the conical twin screw extruder and the calendering unit. After the SPC compound is plasticized by the extruder, the mould distributes the melt across the die width and forms it into a continuous sheet before calendering, film lamination and cooling.
A well-designed mould should provide stable melt flow, precise die lip adjustment, uniform heating, smooth discharge and reliable sealing. For high-calcium SPC formulas, mould design and temperature balance are especially important because viscosity, fluidity and pressure distribution can change across the die width.

Mould Detailed Photos
Romeroca SPC extrusion mould is designed for continuous SPC sheet production. The mould body, die lip, side plates, heating rods and fastening screws should work together to maintain stable melt pressure and uniform sheet output.

Heating Rod Specification
Heating rod configuration affects mould temperature uniformity. Stable temperature control helps reduce melt viscosity fluctuation, uneven flow and sheet thickness deviation during SPC flooring extrusion.
| Position | Heating Rod Specification |
|---|---|
| Die Body | 16 × 280 |
| Side Plate | 16 × 180 |
Fastening Screw Specification
Correct fastening screw selection and tightening sequence help maintain sealing performance and reduce melt leakage at the connecting flange, die body, die lip and side plate.
| Position | Fastening Screw Specification |
|---|---|
| Die Body | M36 × 130 |
| Die Lip | M20 × 100 |
| Side Plate | M20 × 80 / M16 × 50 |

Heating Zone and Power
The mould uses 12 temperature-controlled zones. Multi-zone heating helps keep the melt flow stable across the die width and allows operators to compensate for heat loss or material flow differences at the ends of the mould.
| Area Code | 1 / 6 | 2 / 7 | 3 / 8 | 4 / 9 | 5 / 10 | 11 / 12 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Number of Heating Rods | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 |
| Power (kW) | 2.1 | 2.1 | 2.1 | 2.1 | 2.1 | 1.4 |

Mould Installation and Assembling
Use the specially designed hoisting holes and hoisting ring equipped with the mould to lift it from the packing box. Before lifting, the operator must confirm the mould weight and the rated lifting capacity of the lifting device.
Lift the mould into the production line and install it on a mould support stand with suitable height. Carefully adjust the height so that the inlet end of the mould connects correctly with the extruder. Use uniform torque to tighten the connecting screws.
The fastening screws of the connecting flange should be tightened evenly at the corners. Uneven pressure on the assembly surface may cause melt leakage during the extrusion process.
Install the mould power cord and thermocouple correctly. Before production, check all connection lines, equipment safety devices, control systems and the temperature and pressure control settings.
Mould Warming and Temperature Control
Before production, the mould should be preheated and insulated properly. For uniform preheating and lower heat loss, step-by-step heating is recommended: set 100°C and hold for 30 minutes, then set 150°C and hold for 30 minutes, then increase to the required process temperature and hold for more than 30 minutes before normal production.
Tighten the mould at around 150°C. First align the mould head, then align the side plate and feed port connecting screws. The die body fastening screws should be tightened from the middle to both ends, alternating left and right.
Under working temperature, calibrate the thermocouples and keep each heating zone uniform and constant. Temperature fluctuation can significantly affect material viscosity and flow. The end zones may be adjusted higher when compensation is needed for heat loss or weaker material flow.
Production Trial and Die Lip Adjustment
The die lip fine-tuning mechanism is normally in a natural state before production. It should be adjusted according to product requirements. The fine-tuning screw should be kept in a compressed state, and the die lip opening should be adjusted through multiple screws rather than one large single adjustment.
Start the extruder and check whether sheet thickness and flow rate are uniform. Adjust the die lip gradually to balance material flow distribution. After upstream and downstream equipment are stable and product quality is normal, continuous production can begin.
When stopping production, turn off feeding, reduce extruder speed and add cleaning material until the cleaning material is extruded from the mould. Turn off power, stop heating and clean the inside and outside of the mould thoroughly.
Mould Maintenance
Romeroca recommends that the extrusion mould should be completely disassembled, cleaned, maintained and inspected after around six months of use. Damaged parts such as screws, bolts, heating rods and leads should be replaced in time. The actual maintenance cycle should be determined according to processing material, production load and operating condition.
Disassembly, cleaning, overhaul and maintenance should be performed by qualified engineers. Proper maintenance helps reduce melt leakage, uneven flow, heating failure, die lip blockage and sheet quality instability.

How to Select the Right SPC Flooring T-Die Mould
| Selection Factor | What to Confirm | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|

Frequently Asked Questions About SPC Flooring Extrusion Mould
What is an SPC flooring extrusion mould?
An SPC flooring extrusion mould is a T-die used after the conical twin screw extruder to form plasticized SPC compound into a continuous sheet. It controls melt distribution, sheet width, thickness and flow uniformity before calendering.
What mould models does Romeroca supply?
Romeroca supplies 1050 mm and 1350 mm SPC extrusion moulds. Custom mould dimensions can also be designed according to the customer’s extruder, product width, board thickness and production capacity.
Why is 12-zone temperature control important?
Multi-zone temperature control helps maintain stable melt viscosity and material flow across the mould width. This reduces thickness variation, flow marks and unstable sheet output during SPC flooring extrusion.
How should the mould be preheated before production?
Romeroca recommends step-by-step heating: first set 100°C and hold for 30 minutes, then set 150°C and hold for 30 minutes, then raise to the required process temperature and hold for more than 30 minutes before normal production.
What causes melt leakage from an extrusion mould?
Melt leakage can be caused by uneven flange tightening, poor assembly surface contact, wrong screw torque, thermal expansion mismatch or insufficient mould maintenance. Fastening screws should be tightened evenly and the assembly surface should be checked before production.
